6000 something miles later...

Well I just thought I would let you all know that I made it and I am alive.

It didn't really feel real until I landed in Taipei and was suddenly surrounded by Asians and not really understanding a great deal of what they are saying to me!!

I've registered at the uni so I shall hopefully pick up the language quicker once I start studying it there.

It's been a stressful ol' day today. Bank cards and Taiwan are not getting along so well. Hopefully that will get sorted soon. I hope. But it's a day like today where I just want to sit down with a cuppa and a couple of cheeky biscuits. But what I get here is green tea and a weird cake thing (which apparently has meat in it). Now as exciting as that sounds, it doesn't satisfy one quite so much.

Though it is very exciting to see all the random and different fruits that the Taiwanese have growing in their courtyards. And we thought we Brits were cool with our tomatoes in grow bags.

all set on the plane with my wine.

1 more sleep...

Eeeeekkk!

How did time go so quickly?! I'm pretty sure when I last looked at the clock it was 2010 and I was thinking about moving to Exeter. And somehow that's all old news and I've found myself here, on the brink of going to live in Taiwan for a bit. Hmmm....(I still don't feel like I'm going!)

So here it is guys. And there it was, my final post from England! Mental!

Packing, packing and more packing...

After much procrastinating,I eventually cracked on with packing! Packing became so much easier whilst listening to good music. The song of the day today belonged to Ben Howard with Keep Your Head Up. It helped immensely in cracking on!

So weird to see 6 months of life crammed into a couple of bags!

Figure out the bicycle, but remember to recycle...

Ahhh it is now only 15 days until I depart! Mental! In good news my sheer fear and trepidation has now transformed into excitement! I cannot wait to start this new chapter in my life. Of course I am still nervous, but hey nerves are healthy right. (well they always help before a gig etc, so I figure some nerves are good, just like some bacteria is good for you hehe!)

I can now officially ride a bicycle too. A bit worrying, for a while was thinking I would end up learning to ride a scooter out in Taiwan before learning to ride a bicycle. But after falling over many times, a good few bruises and a rather painful expedition into stinging nettles...I can now ride a bicycle. So thank you to Beth and Johno for helping me out on the bike frontier! Next step is the scooter. Vroooom!!!

Eeeeekkkk!!

Today's song of the day is Bob Marley - Three Little Birds. Because as Mr Marley tells me, 'don't worry...everything little thing is gonna be alright'.
